WELCOME TO
Arbutus Counselling
Where the commitment is to “keep it real.”
A few things about…
Arbutus Counselling
The Arbutus tree mirrors the many qualities that we see in youth, individuals, couples, and families addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, loss & grief, and significant life challenges. Qualities of self-resilience, healing, transformation, and the strength of “perfect imperfection” that can be discovered and cultivated with clients in their counselling work.
A FEW THINGS ABOUT…
OUR vision
When it was time to establish Arbutus Counselling, the vision was to build a practice that was supportive, productive and transparent for both clients and clinicians. Ultimately, we hope that clients can “become their own therapists”, better understanding their own personal workings and responding to them in wanted ways that feel “real”.
Counselling is not a mystery, it is based on a strong therapeutic relationship, processes that are evidence-based and hard work on behalf of all parties. Talking about what we do and how we do it makes counselling more accessible and accountable. We are very proud of what we are building at Arbutus Counselling and welcome all feedback as we grow this small, community based practice.

A FEW THINGS ABOUT…
community engagement
In founding Arbutus Counselling, one of our goals was to engage meaningfully in our local community. Covenant House Vancouver, an organization that provide tangible and transformational help to at-risk youth and young adults ages 16 through 24, is the non-profit which we have chosen to support.
Each month, we make a monthly donation to Covenant House Vancouver representing each session we conduct with our clients.
We would like to thank clients past and present for their collective support for this effort and encourage you to find out more about Covenant House Vancouver by visiting their website.
